Nuclear risk resembles no other. Given its potential magnitude and of its technical nature, it requires exceptional insurance capacities.

Our mission

The purpose of Assuratome is to facilitate its members’ operations within the field of insurance related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and ionising radiation.

Administered Co-Reinsurance Agreements

The terms and conditions of the co-reinsurance are set out in two agreements which Assuratome members can adhere to:
  1. the Nuclear Risks (Third-Party Liability and Property Damage) Co-Reinsurance Agreement,
  2. the Atomic Risks (Life and Personal Accident / Health) Co-Reinsurance Agreement.

Framework of intervention

The covered risks notably include:

  • Nuclear facilities,
  • Environmental protection classified facilities holding or using radioactive elements,
  • Or other types of industrial, medical, or research facilities or units holding or using ionising radiation sources.

Policies are exclusively issued by member insurers, who retrocede 100% of the risk to the pool under the administered co-reinsurance agreements.
